"Dvd Rant"

2 Things.

I recently realized how lots of crappy straight to video sequels keep coming out. I was in Target recently, and this man was there with his two children. They saw a copy of the Sandlot 2.

They kept asking for it over and over again. He kept telling them it wasn't good and they tried to make it like the first one with different kids and it didnt work. That it was not the one they wanted. The kids recongized the cover and the concept and kept badgering him till he bought it.

Think about it most crappy sequels like the Casper sequels and Air Bud movies are always found near the check out line. So kids can con their parents. Another reason not to have kids.

Also, a new trend I am hearing about is TV series being billed at complete seasons on DVD, yet they are actaully the sydnicated cuts of the show. After Networks airs a show once say a sitcom they cut about 30 seconds out when the rebroadcast them to fit in more ads. Than even worst when a show goes into syndication (usually after four seasons or 100 epsiodes whatever comes first) they delete two mins of the show.

Even though out there somewhere the original cuts exist. Perhaps its the fact that the syndicated ones are already cleaned up for the most part when they are packaged to be shown in reruns. At any rate some funny lines, jokes and general flow of the shows are lost when these minutes are deleted. Sometimes its just a longer scene, and occassionally if you have seen both cuts you will release that missing scenes are somes referenced.

The Cosby Show, Alf and Rossane are among popular sitcoms that have issued the syndicated shows off as complete seasons.
