Scheider was fantastic. What a great, solid, hard working actor--and one who was unafraid of standing up publicly for the causes in which he believed. Even as a Russian mob boss in "Third Watch" on NBC he was great. He may have had one of the worst lines in TV history ("Glowing fish poop!"), but he also had one of the greatest in film history ("You're gonna need a bigger boat"). And that car chase in "The Seven-Ups"? Fuhgeddaboutit.
He was a terrific actor with a long and colorful career. I'll miss him. And thanks for the reminder that he was in "2010". I had forgotten about that one! [TL]
