"The Boobie Network 2"

Okay so Drew emailed me and asked me how I figured out that Janet flashed her tit for the sake of getting media attention for her new CD. Okay well I guess that was mostly my personal take on the story. That's what blogs are for. I based my comments on the line of the song that was uttered before it happened, the fact the fact that she had an intention to do something during the halftime show, and that she wore something on her breast that flung out has to make you think. Just reading between the lines and personally painting this one was publicity stunt that's all.

I hope no one here actually gets their news from me. I stand by my comment on thinking Janet made it pop out for attention. Just like I stand by my statement that CBS only pulled the Reagans because they knew they could still easily win sweeps without and didn't want to tick off their lovely advertisers. I am sure the truth will come out one day about if the boob was supposed to come out or not.

As for the FCC being stupid about it, well I guess they were just doing their job. Yeah Drew in his email made a good point that its hard to see how some things are more offensive than others. Just look at the topics of storylines in most sitcoms these days. Or how did they justify Bono dropping the F-bomb?

The thing of it is the FCC always investigates stuff like this it just doesnt always make the headlines. I think they are and trying to warn people of a crack down( made public weeks before the Super Bowl) for one reason, the up coming election or ousting of Bush. Its and election year and they want to make their organization something that is mentioned in the debates. I am sure you haven't heard the last of this. Heck lots of organizations are going to be holding out their hats for cash all year long.

But the thing of it is an FCC regulation rule was broken, and they are just going to investigate if it really was intentional. I mean you can't just take Janet's word for it an close the case. What is the point of the FCC? Drew might not want it but many others do. People will be questioned to see if anyone actually was in on a little surprise and if Janet is just lying. No one is getting locked up or anything it is just they want to make sure they weren't trying to just break the rules. Given the fact that people are ticked that the FCC wants to crack down on some stuff again I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a bunch of artists thumbing their nose at the suits. Damning the man.

The FCC gets paid for a reason it is their whole point. I am sure some people out there especially single parents would like to know to some extent what their child will be exposed to on TV. Who would have thought a boob would have made an appearance during a Super Bowl?

Some Conservatives think that non-cable should have to be limited to what the can show and will likely use this next year showing examples of how the networks have gone too far. I agree with that considering all the kids watching TV and all. Of course they can just flip the channel to HBO or play a violent video game, but I don't get paid to solve these problems. TV ratings help a little so parents don't have to guess if penis jokes are going to be made in the next 22 mins or not. I certainly understand people wanting to know generally if content might surface during family night around the boob tube. ::cough, cough::

Liberals will use this investigation as a way to tell us that Bush is going to rob everyone of their civil rights and wants to censor the world.
