"Gagne Lifts Flyers in OT"

Tampa Bay------------------The offseason for the Flyers must have seemed like several years, as if there was never going to be another NHL game again. The Flyers who were bounced out by Tampa last spring who went on to win the Stanley Cup were eager to seek revenge. Okay, so they didn't get to skate the cup around last night, but beating the bolts last night was more therpetic than anything else.

THere was no shortage in goals ever and even ended in an OT triller when Gagne flicked the game winning goal deflecting a point shot from Markov. The puck sailed right over the shoulder of a slumping Khabibulin.

Critics lasts season said the Flyers weren't likely to beat Tampa since they don't have enough fire power. However, scoring 5 goals last night proved that despite an age disadvantage they can still hang with the younger players.

"We need we had to keep going and moving the puck all night to beat this club, and we did that." Said Jeremy Roenick after the game.

"It was just great to be in front of the fans again. We would never let them down. I love them all." John Lecair added.

The game was also the first for newcomer Turner Stevenson who was a minus one.
