"Snow"

Curious how much snow you will have to shovel this winter? Well check out Fox Philly winter outlook. In my book its the most accurate place to find out whats going on in the weather world. It breaks it down by county and it appears that some of us will get a tad more of the white stuff then the average.

Has any local news weather service ever predicted less than average snowfall. It's all hype. Did you notice that in every single county listed the midrange of the predicted snowfall is higher than the average snowfall? Every single county.

And how the hell do they know how much snowfall we're going to get in February? In my experience, weather forecasting is fairly reliable up to about 48 hours out. After that, it seems to be mostly guesswork.

That's why I never ever check any weather report anywhere. It's not like I boycott weather forecasting or anything. I don't change the channel or the radio station to avoid it. I just never found checking the weather to be remotely useful.

I am no expert on weather but doesn't it have something to do with the jet stream? I always thought that the way it was positioned predicts the upcoming precipitation. Maybe there are some consistancies this year that they can predict it. Or they are just full of shit. That is also a BIG possibility.

Rob Guriano is always references patterns and points out how certain winters are the same because of different factors. He is usually right in comparing to the winters of the past. Last year he compared the winter season to the winter of 1960 something and was pretty dead on. Here cut and past this. He sees this being close to 1963.

We shall see. I am going to start my snow predicting too the first time we have pending storm. This year people can jump in on the fun since there are comments.
