"Bush Bashers Gone Wild!"

Its amazing how few people know that this even happened. A few months back Drew wrote on TERMINUS (too lazy to use the URL) in article called "Typical Republican Behavior" he wrote about how republicans are more likely to become really voilent and I guess just plain mean towards people who didn't vote their way.

I begged to differ.

I am sure so would Catherine Harris who almost met the reaper at the hands of a man who I would doubt has Bush sign on his lawn. Well just check here.

Here's the link to the post you mentioned: Typical Republican Behavior, from August 19, 2004.

Interestingly, in comments to that post, you said: "There are a bunch of people about to tear NYC apart and they arent Bush voters." Yeah, those liberals really tore the city apart, didn't they? I'll never forget watching the fires on CNN as the Bush-Bashers burned the Big Apple to the ground, just as you predicted.

Oh wait... that never happened.

Sarcasm aside, you make a fair point. This lunatic who went after Katherine Harris should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And I never claimed, in the August 19th post or anywhere else, that all instances of politically motivated violence are perpetrated by Republicans. In my experience and to my knowledge, most of them are.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A Democrat is charged with punching a local Republican leader and a life-sized cardboard cutout of President George W. Bush, according to police.

Authorities say David Philip McCally, 55, is charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal mischief for the Thursday night scuffle.

McCally, an instructor at Sante Fe Community College, was headed to a restaurant when he stopped inside the nearby GOP headquarters and punched the presidential cutout.

McCally said he meant it in a lighthearted way. But Alachua County Republican Executive Committee chairman Travis Horn followed him outside the store, and the two exchanged words before fists few.

Police say McCally threw the first punch, and Horn suffered a cut lip and injured nose.

But in Horn's words: "If I have to take a beating every day for George W. Bush to be president, I'll do that."

Yeah, I bought into the media hype on that one. Of course you could arguee it came from the left to make the hate bigger than it was.

I can't wait to see Jays dad tomorrow

I don't think Anonymous's AP article should count. Both sides over-reacted, and both sides acted like jackasses.

The Democrat didn't intend to start a fight until the Republican started making an issue out of it. I'm sure angry words were shouted by both sides, and the Democrat popped first. At least, that's the way I read the article. It was a little too vague to make a definitive judgment.
