"Last Stop Superbowl"

Well the Eagles ripped the Vikings, apart. Now they have to face Atlanta which I feel that if they dressed up the Soul, they could beat them. So, I am not too worried about next week. Should be over before the first quarter is done. Does anyone know where we can get some good but rather cheap cigars for the end of the Philly Curse early next month? Philly is going to knock out New England (who will rub out Pittsburgh next week). So, in a few weeks, McNabb will be saying that he is going to Disney Land. Get the t-shirts made up there is no stopping this team.

Keith, are you trying to piss off every Eagles fan in the region? If you are, you should know that that's a pretty petty thing to do. If you're not, you should realize that you are pissing us off, and you should stop it.

Dude, did you watch the game? Now we have the Falcons in bitter cold weather!

What is really the big deal if we are over confident? Why do Philly fans have such an inferiority complex that they cant say WE ARE GOING TO WIN AND KICK ASS.

We have to sit and dwell on all the things that could go wrong, and how this team can screw it up like last year. Or we won't win because we are Philly. Maybe thats why we never win anything in this city, because everyone seems like they are almost afraid to win a championship, because Philly will loose its appeal as the long suffering fans whoose team can't quite reach the final goal.

Normal fans think their team is going to win the superbowl and doesnt over analize things like Philly fans.

Maybe you are afraid to believe or like most fans you are like a battered woman who can't trust anymore.

Well trust this team. They smacked down Atlanta so bad when they played them before, do you really think they are going to lose in cold weather at home to these losers?

Yeah New England could be tough (I am picking them over the Steelers) but this team has the killer drive. They have that confidence this is a championship team.

Lets say the Steelers make it, they have really lost their confidence after the Jets train wreck. New England can be tough, but the Eagles just want it more. Thats all there is to it. I have no fear that this team is destined for greatness. Im sorry if I pissed off Eagles fans by telling them their team is the best team in the NFL, and are going to be the Superbowl champs.

Maybe, we can put a bet on this. If they lose you can blame me for "jinking" them. If they win we should both be happy. But you owe me something for trying to make me look like a jerk by thomping our chests.

Its time we stop putting faith into the evil spirit of William Penn and put some faith in our team so we can get a championship now.

If the Eagles make it to the Superbowl with the drive and talent they on their team, do you think they will choke? Or do you really think Atlanta is going to upend them?

I'm sorry to be this blunt, Keith, but you're an idiot. Yes, the Eagles are a far superior team to Atlanta. That doesn't mean they are going to win. I hope they win, and I think they're going to win, but they have to play the game first. You've had them winning the SuperBowl since before the end of the season, which is just stupid. There's a reason why they play the games.

You of all people should know that. The Flyers had the Devils beat a few years. They had it locked up, and they were going to the Stanley Cup Finals. But that's not what happened, is it?

Besides, you're just wrong on your analysis of a potential Eagles SuperBowl. You're right that Atlanta beating the Eagles would require a major upset. You're wrong that the Eagles would be similarly favored against either potential AFC opponent. If the Eagles make the SuperBowl, their opponent is going to be a damn good team either way, and there's no telling what will happen.

I believe that you're doing this because you want to see the Eagles fans, who you hate, suffer like you, as a Flyers fan, have suffered. I think you get off on the pain of the Eagles fans. I think you hope the Eagles lose so you can laugh at all those people who love a game that isn't as good as your precious hockey.

Sure, they may not be favored to win the Superbowl, but I am making the prediciton based an intangiable. The team just has the magic of a championship team.

I think I said they would win the Super Bowl, back in the fall not the start of the season. Everyone calls a Superbowl team at the start of the season. Whats the big deal?

I want the philly streak to end. But yeah, honestly if the Eagles loss I would be over it in a day. I just strongly feel that this is their year. People who know tons more about football than me say this is the best Eagles team ever.

I think it will be Philly and New England and there is no doubt in my mind that the Eagles can beat them. Might be a bit tougher than I think, but this team is ment to be the Super Bowl champ.

Yes I find hard core Eagles fans annoying. HOwever, its my gut feeling that this year is simply the Eagles year.

Like I said there is no stopping this team. I dont like the lay off after this Sunday, but what can you do.

Keith, I don't want to gang up on you here but I thought the post was slightly annoying. Here's my problem with your post.

As you admit, you're not much of a football or Eagles fan. I know this. So when you say you not worried about a loss I ask myself, "Would Keith be worried anyway?" It's ok not to care as much about the Eagles as me, but you have to watch yourself when you talk about it then, because you're under scrutiny, as you now or will soon know.

I don't like your use of the word "Soul" with a capitol "S". I don't know what you mean when you say you, "feel that if they dressed up the Soul, they could beat them". The Eagles got soul, man. They got Soul, too. They even got SOUL.

I'm not superstitious, so I don't believe in the Philly Curse except in the minds of people. I don't know who thought up this Philly Curse deal, but I'm sure it wasn't a Philadelphia sports fan. It's very negetive and it annoys me, but only around play-off time.

Even though I enjoy some of their film production subsidaries like Pixar and Castle Rock, I hate Disney. You reminded me that a superbowl win would result in an immediate commercial for them, which I also hate. I hope that instead of spouting that disgustingly cheesy line, McNabb flips-off the camera.

Love,

Royce.

You're a welcome addition to the Eagles fanbase. Continue posting comments on their performance but take more care not to come across as patronizing or snide lest you bear the wrath of the rest of us. You know how philly fans are.

Love,

Royce.

Royce when Keith mentioned the Soul he was talking about the Philadelphia Soul the new Arena League team.

Drew, I think that you are over reacting just a little bit. You have to take things in perspective. Keith is obviously just doing this to piss people off, that is what he does, you just have to let it roll offf your back, like every other asinine thing he says. Besides it would be different if a real fan was saying this but it isn't. It's the equivalent of every other bandwagon jumper out there. Their opinions do not mena anything, hey do not register with the Greedmaster. Do you remember every time a Philly team gets close to a championship and you see every car with a flag, and news anchors start leadiing off the news with sports stories, and every woman in the world is wearing the team colors and talking about something they have absolutely no clue about. This is what is goiing on with Keith, you have someone who is not a sports fan (not even a hockey fan, just a Flyers fan) voicing a opinion about a news story not a sports story. Just let it go, it does not count.

First off I don't know you how anyone can just call me a Flyers fan and not a hockey fan. Since I watched hours and hours of non-Flyers games in my life.

Maybe I can post about it, because I am not emotionally invested in it. No I am not a football expert. However, I really think this team will kick ass.

If I call it ahead of time, it just makes me look cool. They only reason that his could piss people off it.

A. They think I don't know anything about Football. I really don't know that much at all. But I can still predict and have a gut feeling. Why can't just make my prediciton? I am just very confident that this team will win the Superbowl.

B. They actually think they that I am going to put a hex on them by saying they will win. That is just crap. If casual fans were telling me that the Flyers were going to win the cup. I certainly wouldn't get pissed off.

So, fine have it your way. The Eagles suck. They will never ever make it past the NFC title game. Even if they do they will be destroyed. In fact don't even bother watching they are going to lose anyway. PHilly will never win a superbowl. This team is doomed. Andy Reid doesn't know what he is doing. MccNabb is overrated. Its over. The Eagles are going to lose. They suck so bad. What an overrated team. They suck. Don't you dare think about them winning a Superbowl, because its already over.

See, these are the problems that you encounter when you have zero reading comprehension skills. the argument is not that you (or anyone) should not be confident in the Eagles. I beleive that they are going to win. The problem is tat you will not see anybody going out and saying: Get the victory cigars, or get the T-shirts made up. There is a big difference between confidence in one's team and just plain old tempting the Greedmaster. What you are doing is tempting fate.

Also, you meant to tell me that if the NHL came back tomorrow and for some reason the Flyers did not, that you would still go out of your way to watch games and become a fan of another team? Perhaps even going as far as to get the NHL League Pass? I do not think so. I think that you would watch the occasional game here and there when they air on ESPN (which will be rare), but not much more.

That is bizzare. Well I am sure it would take me awhile to find a new team. I am sure anyone would be bummed if there team didnt come back. I guess I would would likely just root for the Maple Leafs or someone like that.

I am ready to get the t-shirts made up because I know they will win this week. What does everyone else honestly think? I also think they could and will beat either team they play in the Superbowl. Yeah its not over yet, but i am calling this one early, so enjoy it. The streak could very lik ely come to and end. Not to mention the fact that all the doom and gloom never worked in the past. The Greedmaster is a little bitch.
