Wow. The Rangers were routed tonight by the Flyers. 7-0! I knew the Rangers sucked but I didn think they were this bad. After the game the reporters was asking Lindros what happened. He was really confused and told them he was never even resigned by the Rangers, and he had no idea how he got there.

"Going to Get Dirty!"
Uh,oh-Uh,0h
The election is going to get dirty!
Well looks like the gloves are off and everyone is fair game. I am waiting for Bush's dog to get dragged into the mess. The more than likely to be the future first lady decided to jib-jab the first lady for being a homemaker.
"Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things."
Well it turns out that she was a teacher for roughly a decade. What gives here? First off whats with dragging her into this mess? Why do this people just spew out stuff they don't know about or know isn't true? Like Dick Cheney saying he never met John Edwards despite the fact that they rubbed elbows together a few times at some events.
She said she was sorry, about it. However, what a dumb move I am told by my liberal friends that Kerry needs to sway undecided women voters and looks like the Kerry campaign is fumbling that chance. After Kerry's cliche reponse to the wife question in the last debate following Bush's heartfelt speach was a really blown chance. Now, lets say she was just a homemaker, first off she clearly didn't need to work, 2nd what an insult to American women who stay home with their children.
Add in Kerry slamming Cheney for getting flu shot in addition to blaming Bush for the flu shot problems. Of course the VP is old and has heart problems, but whatever.
Meanwhile Republicans are being accused of stealing the election. Apperently, people in Nevada were tampering with voter registration forms. Other organizations including the temp agency Kelly Services have been hired to only give out forms to people that had said they were voting for Bush.
Both candiates have used people who had loved ones who died in 9/11 for their ads.
Cheney says nuclear bombs might fall in our cities.
Edwards said that people in wheelchairs will be able to walk again just by voting for him. Well I know people have given promisies before, and if he kept this some what grounded like...we will work towards pushing stem cell research or something like that it wouldn't have been bold. However, to tell us that EVERYONE will walk again. Just makes me stomach turn. Yeah vote for me and you can do the funky chicken! Everyone will be healed.
Well I am starting to think that this election will actually last for several weeks after Nov,2. I guess its just as well since there is no hockey to watch anymore. Good lord, you think tensions are high now? HOwever, it matters very little since we will all die from the flu in mere months. Those who actually live will be drafted for the war in Iran or blown up by the nuclear bombs falling on our cities.
12 days left till the election of the new prez, or all the court battles and hanging chads.

"Two Weeks"
Two weeks left in the campaign. All the Hype, Spin, Lies, Debates, and stupid ass photo ops will be done in two weeks. The climax, the final bow, the end game, the end of the race.
Driving to work, like weeds the campaign signs are popping up like weeds. Its amazing. I have actually seen a lot more Bush signs in the South Jersey area than I thought I would. Not to say I haven't seen enough Kerry signs to sink a ship. HOwever, if anything its dead even in the amount of signs I have seen. The state could lean right for the first time since 1988.
Now I have a blog, which in this election is a powerful tool. The people have louded voices than ever before. HOwever, it helps if you have readership in the double digits. I have no traffic metter, but I imagine the only time my readership is up is when Drew gives my a shout out on TERMINUS, although rarely do his friends actually comment on my page. Either they think Drew is doing fine debating me or they only wish death upon me and hold back since Drew and I are friends.
Well I think I have to step up my politics posts up for awhile on here. Sorry John. This is history in the making here.
Anyway, where did the time go? The time to vote is almost here.
So it times to decide.
Bush's people say if I or we vote for Kerry we will be slammed by terrorists yet again. Although we were slammed once under their watch.
Kerry's people say if I vote for Bush we will all be drafted to be murdered in Iran, Iraq, or some other middle east country for Oil. Yet the only people drafting anything towards a draft are two democrats. How is Kerry going to make it different if he gets in there if its as bad as he says?
Wrong War, at the Wrong Time! Where do I sign up? I am sure people will just be enlisting like mad for that one. So, he says we don't have enough people in Iraq, so where will he get the people from? The only other excuse that I can figure for a draft is if something really bad happens like we are attacked or someone is hit hard in the mideast that is on our side. But, Kerry has no control over that really.
Kerry said he wants to go back to the time when terrorism was just a nuisance (rant on that pending). I would love that too, sadly though I can't just hope in my Delorean and head back to 2001.
So okay say you take Kerry's words as truth. I mean they keep saying it on MTV and even P Diddy thinks so, so it must be the truth. Seriously, say you take that as truth, and Bush as the truth.
Say they are both being honest.
Then we get to decide where we want to die this Nov. 2 Do we want to be blown to bits at home or go over seas to be blown to bits. Don't forget every vote counts and we can decide where and how we want to meet the reaper.
Just lovely.

"Movie Nerd News"
Okay, since most of my readers are movie people. I am going to try to have a movie post on here on a semi-weeklish basis about movies that are coming soon.
Micheal Moore has been in the Delware Valley shooting footage for his next film Sicko (though the title may change before it is released), which is about the state of healthcare in the US. It wouldn't be unlikely if he shows up in some south jersey towns because of all the healthcare buildings around. Supposedly, he is targeting parmasitical sales reps in the currently being filmed segments.
I hope you like remakes because Hollywood has a ton of them on the way. Cedric the Entertainer will be star in the remake of the Dangerfeild classic Back to School. Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are going to be in a remake of the Longest Yard, about a football movie between prisioners and prision guards. Bert Reynolds will be in this remake playing a rather large part, he was in the original too, oddly enough. I can't think of many times that his has happened aside from cameos. The Vincent Price horror classic House of Wax is being remade with Parris Hilton. Hmm..what else there is a remake of the James Stewart movie (havent seen this one yet) the Flight of the Phoenix.
Kevin Smith said while pushing Jersey Girl, that the days of silent of Jay and Silent Bob were gone. That he would do more adult themed movies. I guess he is a flip-flopper, because there is a sequel to Clerks, called The Passion of the Clerks currently in pre-production. Smith is still trying to make a Fletch movie. The same Fletch that starred Chevy Chase in the 80's. He was supposed to do this in mid-90s, but it kept being pushed off. God knows if Chevy will even be in it or if he will be replaced by Jason Biggs or something.
Speaking of movies taking a long time to be made. There is a live action/cartoon mix movie that has been in production so long that John Candy and Madeline Kahn as voices. Of course, they both passed away quite awhile ago. Candy over a decade ago. This movie apperently has been moved around from different companys and has been shelved a number of times. Look for a 2005 release for this movie, and it might just end up as a TV movie after all that trouble.

"Flyers/ Panthers Skate to Tie"
South Flordia-------------Coming off their thrilling overtime win against the defending stanley cup champions last night, the Flyers found themselves in overtime again. Unfortunetly, the Flyers were unable to pull it out last night.
The contest between both hockey clubs crew a little heated. Flyers captain Keith Primeau was ejected early in the game after spearing an opponent after scoring his first goal of the season. Primeau wasn't the only player not known for the rough stuff to get involved last night. John Leclair dropped the gloves with Panthers Eric Carins. Carins getting the better of the fight leaving Leclair with a noticable mark on his left cheek.
"He {Leclair} has been trying to help me improve my wrist shot.." Said Todd Fedoruk "Maybe I can teach him a thing or two", he added.
Somik (1) and Johnson added to the Flyers tally, but Panthers struck back in the mid-way through the third period sending the game to OT.
Esche has now let up 8 goals in two games.
"I am not worried" said Esche to the press after the game.

"Gagne Lifts Flyers in OT"
Tampa Bay------------------The offseason for the Flyers must have seemed like several years, as if there was never going to be another NHL game again. The Flyers who were bounced out by Tampa last spring who went on to win the Stanley Cup were eager to seek revenge. Okay, so they didn't get to skate the cup around last night, but beating the bolts last night was more therpetic than anything else.
THere was no shortage in goals ever and even ended in an OT triller when Gagne flicked the game winning goal deflecting a point shot from Markov. The puck sailed right over the shoulder of a slumping Khabibulin.
Critics lasts season said the Flyers weren't likely to beat Tampa since they don't have enough fire power. However, scoring 5 goals last night proved that despite an age disadvantage they can still hang with the younger players.
"We need we had to keep going and moving the puck all night to beat this club, and we did that." Said Jeremy Roenick after the game.
"It was just great to be in front of the fans again. We would never let them down. I love them all." John Lecair added.
The game was also the first for newcomer Turner Stevenson who was a minus one.

"NHL 2004-05 Preview"
The NHL is dead, the AHL has ruined the game of hockey and its almost certain at this point that the WHA2 has fallen through before the first season even started. However, there is no reason not to go with ahead it my NHL preview anyway. Here, we go hockey fans!
Flyers: FLY EAGLES ! LETS GO IGGLES BABY! WE GOT .T. O. BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO!
SUPERBOWL !!!!! (SCREAMING DRUNKENLY)
New Jersey: The Devils wanted a new stadium, no one in North Jersey was really all excited to go out of the way to get them one since no one goes to their games but Flyers fans. Their prayers have been answered there is no longer a reason to get a new stadium, because hockey no longer exists.
NY Rangers: Since MSG the tv station carries the Devils, Islanders and almost all Rangers games there are losing a truck load of loot in TV money over the lock out. One of the few NHL teams that actually makes profit will lose money this year. So, instead of making money and not being in the playoffs they will lose money and still not be in the playoffs.
Pittsburgh:
Super Mario is screwed no matter who wins, not unlike Americans in the pending general election. At least their will slot machines at the Igloo soon.
NY Islanders: Where will the Flyers fan club take bus trips too?
Washington: Capitals fans don’t have to worry their team is basically just a bunch of AHL players! So, they can basically see the entire final roster from last season play for the farm team. Hey if the team is a farm team and there is no team to send your players up to…is it still a farm team?
Tampa Bay: They can burry the cup in the sand in the beaches of Tampa, because the NHL will never return.
Florida: I don’t think the fans even noticed there is a lockout, so I am not to worried about them. Besides most their fans likely got blown away in the winds of one of the seventy hurricanes they had this season. IF they are lucky they were blown to Europe where hockey still is played.
Carolina: I guess both their fans are just going to have to go to more college basketball games.
Atlanta: Well this season is going better than last years…none of the players recklessly drove their fast car killing a team member. Chin up Thrashers fans.
Ottawa: They are going to make up money for the first time in years! Chin up Sens fans!
Buffalo: I would like to take this time to apologize in advance for the Atlanta joke.
Toronto: I can imagine there are going to be lots of leafs fans jumping off the CN tower. Hey Drew next time we go to Toronto can we PLEASE go in the CN tower?
Montreal: One of the most hallowed sports franchises in the history of sports is dead now. Well at least the people of Montreal have the Expos to cheer for…OH WAIT!
Boston: The home of the Democrat National Convention I would imagine that the Bruins fans would LOVE to go back to the good old days when lockout talks were just a “nuisance” . It is a lot more fun and easier than dealing with reality. The whole “CBA thing” is exaggerated anyway.
Western Teams
ST Louis: They are going to be singing THE BLUES. There is no hockey. Don’t meet me in ST. Louis if you want to be watching hockey.
Detroit: Hockey town without hockey? Now that the NHL is dead and the Red Wings are just a memory the town will nicknamed after the other popular city hobbies. Yes the are now calling it “Smoking Crack, and Murdering People Town.”
Chicago: ESPN or SI or somebody voted this team the worst franchise in the history of sports. Well, since the sport of hockey has left us forever it is highly unlikely they will ever be dethroned.
Nashville: The lockout was great for this team. Untill the owners met last month no one even knew Nashville had a team. They still made the team owner sit at the kiddie table during the negotiations though.
Columbus: How can you think of hockey without thinking of the city of Columbus? I beg you. Just try it. I can’t imagine what the Blue Jackets fans did when they heard there will be no hockey. Actually I think I can imagine, I am guessing they looked really sad and then the all realized not only there was no hockey but they lived in Columbus and all killed themselves.
Dallas: If Bush loses the election he will go back to his ranch and order up the hockey package. Even if everyone tells him there will not be a season or any games to watch he will insist on spending tons of money on something that isn’t worth it.
Anaheim:
Los Angles: FLY EAGLES ! LETS GO IGGLES BABY! WE GOT . T. O. BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO!
SUPERBOWL !!!!! (SCREAMING DRUNKENLY)
Phoenix: I bet Wayne is glad he put all the time and money into saving this team from meeting the reaper. All that trouble, and now hockey is dead.
San Jose: Believe it or not the fans here are pretty loyal and love their team. I am sure it bites to be a Sharks fan right now.
Vancouver: The question lots of people keep asking me is will Todd Bertuzzi be back in the NHL?
My answer: NO! And neither will 21 other Canucks. There will be no 2004-05 , 2005-06 season or any other season. The sport is dead. Might as well give him the chair now he is worthless to humanity.
Colorado: Wasn’t that great the way Paul Kariya and Temmu Selanne played for the league minimum for the Avalanche just for a shot to sip from the cup and be the part of something special? The NHLPA didn’t think so, they give both NHL superstars a bunch of crap about it. They would hate to put the love of the game before money for the players and agents.
Minnesota: So the North Stars owner sells to the highest bidder which results in the team dropping the North part of their name and moving to Dallas. Then the team finally comes together and wins a cup. Who do they root for? Well the Minnesota Wild who arrived a few years ago! Now they are starting to become a good team. Somewhere in a bar 20 years from now people will be looking at the really old pictures of Stars and someone will be what the hell is that? I have a faint memory of that…but I really don’t know what sport that is.
Edmonton: If you needed on less reason to go to one of the coldest damn cities on earth. Now there is no hockey to see there.
Calgary: Did anyone stop to think about the FLAMES GIRLS during this lockout? DID THEY? DID THEY?
Flyers: FLY EAGLES ! LETS GO IGGLES BABY! WE GOT .T. O. BABY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TO!

"Two in a Week"
I was going to write a little something about the passing of Rodney Dangerfield and maybe just post some of his really funny one line jokes, but sadly now I have to write about two actors I liked. Even though he didn't really like TV and Film nearly as much as standup he left us with three really funny films. Back to School, Caddyshack and I would even include Ladybugs despite the fact that it is clearly inferior to the other two. Has anyone ever seen Easy Money ? I want to know if its worth renting off netflix or not. In the 1990s he mostly did straight to video films like the Godson which was pretty bad so I imgine his others were worse. This came after his last movie in theaters Meet Wally Sparks flopped.
Anyway, I loved his comedy and always made a point to watch him when he showed up on Leno. He was at his best just telling jokes. CHevy Chase said on the Caddyshack DVD, that the first day of shooting Dangerfield was really upset after his first take, because he said he was bombing and wasn't funny at all. He had to be told that no one was laughing at him because they would all ruin the shot! Most the comics who weren't trying to keep from laughing their butts off were taking notes watching the legend spew out soon to be legendary lines.
Obivously, the other passing is Chirstopher Reeve. Now anyone who knows me even a little bit know that I really like the Superman Movies. Mainly, because they bring my back to my youth, but also because I liked Reeves verision of Superman, and them movies helped put me on the road to being the movie buff that I am today.
Reeve was mostly type-casted after making a name for himself in the movie series. However, I am glad he never got all bitter about it and embraced people knowing him as Superman. In order to be taken more seriously he tried to go against type playing a gay priest once. He also showed up in the whacky Nosies Off (I haven't seen it since I was 12, but thought it was funny then), Street Smart opposite a rising Morgan Freeman, and the God awful Village of the Damned.
Anyway, Reeve will always be Superman to me. I even liked the way he played Clarke, and many times it was easy as a viewer to forget that he was the same person as Superman. I recall when I had Liza watch Superman III with me a few months ago, she commented that she liked Lana Lang better (as do I) because she liked Clark for Clark, not like Lois who would blow Clark off for Superman. However, they are the same person! Superman was actually playing someone, but Clark always seemed like a real person who was just friends with Superman.
I know some of my friends thought he was "bland" in those movies. However, I would like to point out a few great scenes to show his rang in the series. The first comes in the first film where he slips from the Clark to SUperman voice then back again when he thinks about telling Lois the truth. The 2nd, the scene in III when SUperman becomes evil and has a battle with himself.
I was thinking of launching a feature call franchises on here and disecting some movie series that I am really familiar with..would anyone be interested in that feature? If there is interest since I know more about the Superman movie series than most people. It likely to be a good read for most people.
Anyway, both actors entertained me as a kid as well as an adult and we will missed. I guess its just as well that Reeves is gone, as upbeat as he was it had to suck. He really did alot for people in this condition and got a lot of attention from both canidates. He did a lot for me to make me develop a love for movies. Of course I looked up to him a lot when I was a little kid, but I imagine I am not alone in that.
Hard to believe that Reeve is gone.
Anyone who wants to go back and read about the Superman films, should go here. This dude from England of all places made this really cool site. He helped get the directors cut of the first film released and is now trying to do the same for Superman II. For awhile he even had a shout out to me. I am that much of a nerd.
Everyone hoped and some even though Chris Reeve would walk again, well I would like to think he is able to walk again now, and he is walking a much better place.

Superman : No, sir. Don't thank me, Warden. We're all part of the same team. Good night.

"4 Reasons John Kerry Will Win"
John Kerry is going to win the election in a few years from now. Here are the reasons that I think this way.
1. Most the polls are going to be way off, since they don't include people who registered to vote this year only to oust Bush.
2. Micheal Moore's film was the biggest film of the summer (and perhaps the year) and the young voters just love it. Everyone at work just is constantly quoting the film and use it as a bible for the potlicial views.
3. Most people who are under employed or out of work is going to blame Bush. In his defense Bush did come into the white house as the resecsion was starting. If you recall it was a big concern for him and Gore when they both ran in 2000. Of course 9/11 made things a lot worse. However, most people won't want to hear it they think Bush should have fixed the problem already.
4. The democrats are scaring the crap out of young people and college students going to college campuses and telling them they will all be drafted if they don't vote for John Kerry and fight in war on Iran that will start right after Bush gets elected.

"Fahrenheit 9/11 Questions"
I have two questions about Micheal Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11.
1. The ads now for the DVD make the movie actually look like loans of fun! Rock music plays quick shots of marines running around and stuff. The now famous round the world pointed up shot of the films director make it look like a good popcorn flick. Anyway, my question is what is that song that plays on the ADs? The catch line is "Whos going to save you?!" I can't get the song out of my head, and I know I like the song but don't know who it is or what it is about.
2. The other question is...why is there a soundtrack coming out now? The ad says the music that inspired the film. I still havent seen the film, but what exactly is that about? It has artists like Bob Dlyan (maybe not but people like him) and other famous rock stars. I didn't think Moore was inspired by music to make this, I thought it was 9/11 and the events after. Was he laying on his bed and listening to staring up at the ceiling playing his Pearl Jam CD, when he jumped up and said..hey time to make a movie!
3. Okay, nothing to do with Micheal Moore at all. I was watching Any GIven SUnday last night, and it was the directors cut. NOw this is the first time I saw this verision of the film which included a scene Lima Beanz told me about. Towards the end of the film a football player loses HIS EYE!. A player on the other team LOSES HIS EYE! NOw the entire film is a realistic and dark look at professional football, but this scene is so silly! Why put this scene back in?
Granted I don't know much about the NFL, but has anyone actually lost and eye playing? Lets just say it could happen. I doubt that all the gore and veins would rip that easily that his eye would just land on the ground it would likely dangle from the gore, or get stuck in the cage of the mask. Not to mention there would be 10 times more blood, just look what happened to Bryan Berard his eye was just cut. HE LOST HIS FREAKING EYE!
If I made that scene in the movie I would play it like a Chris Farley Skit.
"MOTHER OF GOD MY EYE! DEAR GOD ! MY DAMN EYE HAS FALLEN OUT!"
::blood pours out all over the hand of the football player as he falls into a table with water bottles all on them.::
"OH MY GOD THE PAIN! MY EYE!"

"Yes, I Want to Help!"
I am usually not a sucker for this e-mails. However, this one moved me to tears.
Now I don't want to be one of those guys who rants on how people should use their money. I do however realize that most of my friends are now making better money then they did a year ago.
So please give of yourself. If it is just a little bit of your next paycheck, there is no way around this it is a noble cause. I am going to put the e-mail on here, if you want to print out the form I suggest you cut and past into word and then print it.
Since September 11, 2001, Americans and Canadians have come together asnever before in our generation. We have banded together to overcometremendous adversity. We have weathered direct attacks on our own soil, wars overseas, corporate/government scandal, layoffs, unemployment, stock price plunges, droughts, fires, mad cow, SARS, high gasolineprices, and a myriad of economic and physical disasters both great andsmall. But now, we must come together once again to overcome our greatestchallenge yet. HUNDREDS of Professional Hockey players in both of ournations are going to be locked out, and FORCED to live at well below theseven-figure salary level. And as if THAT weren't bad enough they couldbe deprived of their life-giving pay for several months, and possiblyeven longer, as a result of the upcoming lockout situation.
But YOU can help! For ONLY $20,835 a month, or $694.50-a-day (so say only $700-a-day ...that's less than the cost of a large screen projection TV) you can helpan NHL player remain economically solvent during his time of need. Thiscontributionby NO MEANS solves the problem as it barely covers the MINIMUM salary, but it's a START, and every LITTLE BIT like this will help!Although $700 may not seem like a lot of money to you, to a hockeyplayer it could mean the difference between spending the lockout golfingin Florida or on a Mediterranean cruise. For you, seven hundred dollarsis nothing more than a month's rent, half a mortgage payment, or a monthof medical insurance, but to a hockey player, $700 will PARTIALLYreplace his daily salary.
Think how hard it must be for these players.Your commitment of less than $700 a day will enable a player to buy thathome entertainment center, trade in the year-old Lexus for a newFerrari, or enjoy a weekend in Rio. And instead of being alone duringthis dangerously vulnerable time, they may even be able to enjoy thecompany of their much-loved supermodel girl friends instead of just"average women". I remind you: think how difficult this must be forthese poor tragic souls. How will YOU know THAT YOU'RE HELPING?Each month, you will receive a complete financial report on the playeryou sponsor. Detailed information about his stocks; bonds; 401(k) orRRSPs; real estate properties; and other investment holdings will bemailed DIRECTLY to YOUR home.
PLUS, by just signing up for thisprogram, you will receive an UNsigned photo of the player lounging duringthelockout on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean (for a signed photo, please include an additional $150). You can put the photo on yourrefrigerator to remind you of other peoples' suffering. How will HE know YOU'RE HELPING?Your NHL player will be told that he has a SPECIAL FRIEND who just wantsto help in a time of need. Although the player won't know YOUR name, hewill be able to make collect calls to your home via a special operatorin case additional funds are needed for his unforeseen expenses. It'seasy to help. Just complete the self-explanatory information below, andthe rest will be taken care of for you.

brow"The Debate Post" Kerry Rebounds
Neither party knocked one out of the park last night. However, John Kerry certainly rebounded from his fake sun tan gone awry and his disastrous Good Morning America outing. Most talking heads are saying that Kerry flat out won. I didn't see that at all. However if I had to declare a winner, I would have only given Kerry an victory by a tiny margin. Kerry needed that bad though, in fact I tried to call Drew earlier that day to tell him if Kerry had were to loss the debate that I would have figured the wheels to offically have come off his campaign.
I am told Bush was out heavily campaigning in the roasting sun, and perhaps that sucked some of his energy as the debate wore on. Bush, did seem some what annoyed, and reminded me of Al Gore in 2000. Not nearly as bad, but he sighed heavily and mad frowns as John Kerry gabbed on. Whatever the reason Bush had the tendency to sigh before he made a point or do an impression of Pork Pig and stumble over his words. Both parties repeated themselves too many times (although I guess they might be trying to drill certain points home) and Bush was more guilty of that then his democrat counter part.
Well if anyone is still reading this blog (Price is away, and Ed is God knows where) this is likely your last stop on your list of sources for your political news and view. Not to mention the fact that if your home reading this on a Friday night lame enough, so instead of dissecting it anymore (although I will mention some things I didn't like) I would like to try to make heads or tails out of the two candidacy stance on Iraq. Seriously this is how I am taking their takes on what they think of Iraq.
Bush:
Listen right after 9/11 I made it fairly clear that we were going to be in a long war that would involve many different battle grounds and challenges. Okay, so we didn't get Osama and people think that I veered off in Iraq, but I got a list of people who would most likely to catch us sleeping and Saddam's Iraq was on the top of the list. Our intelligence said Iraq had WMDs and since Saddam isn't the most honest guy in the world I assumed the intelligence was right so rolled the nice and sent the troops in. It turns out we were wrong, but at least now this guy who killed lots of people and didn't like us is gone now. We would rather fight the terrorists there so if they want to come out of the woodworks, better to blow them up in the desert then on the streets of America. So, now things are messy over there but we can't just leave. Seeing as where at this point it would be even worse to leave it a total mess and make us look dumb and apathetic to whether or not Iraq gets their act together. Yeah people are pissed at us right now, but we will fix the bad Iraqis will eventually give up.
Kerry
Well Saddam was a bad guy, and although I looked at the same intelligence I would have slept on the whole invasion thing for awhile longer. Yeah I considered him a threat at the time, but I don't think I could have really made my mind up that soon. Just a wait and see policy. Now look its a mess and Bush rolled the dice and lost. If I knew what I know now how messy it would have been and that there weren't any winds I wouldn't have even bothered. Then again at the time I thought there were winds, but now I know that there aren't so obviously I wouldn't have gone to war. So, basically now its the wrong war at the wrong time, unless their were WMDs which may or may not have made a difference in my mind. I mean now that I think of it there are lots of other bad guys like Saddam that we leave alone. Of course now I want more troops in there to stop the WMDS from getting into the country throughout he borders. So, I am going to send them. However, if things settle down I can start to settle down we are going to have troops starting to leave Iraq by July. Well, if you want to know anymore I am afraid you are going to have to go to www.johnkerry.com.
What I didnt like:
Out of all the countries that have nuclear capabilities that Kerry listed how many of them are our friends? Like England..etc.
Kerry plugging his website
The fact that Bush acting silly when Kerry talked and got miffed easily. Also that fact that the last 30 mins seemed like he just wanted to get the hell out of there. Like, come on Mr. Questions Guy isn't it time to go home yet? Still with the questions? Lets see...um...something something ...bring them to justices....Liberty....yada yada yada...
I dunno maybe he forgot to tape Joey or something.
Final Thought:
Both sides seem a little let down. Both Kerry and Bush fans think their man fumbled chances to nail the other speaker. I agree with that, the both missed chances to got for the gut. Doubt their teams will let them make the same mistake in round 2.
One question:
Who was right about the Iran question about when sanctions were put on Iran?
Tucker's Pick: John Kerry is the winner by a hair or two.
I am told Bush was out heavily campaigning in the roasting sun, and perhaps that sucked some of his energy as the debate wore on. Bush, did seem some what annoyed, and reminded me of Al Gore in 2000.

About Last Night...
Well after the reherseal for DAn K's wedding a bunch of us went back to Jessica's aunts house for an after party. Much to my surprise I actually did get to see some of the debate. I got to see the first 30 mins, and roughly the last 30 mins of the debate last night.
First off this was the best house to be in to watch a debate at least.
1. Rick who registed just to help vote Bush out off office, so was obviously rooting for John Kerry.
2. Dan K who could thinks they are both duds, but tends to favor Bush for the most part. HOwever, he refuses to vote since he feels its all BS, and we are all just basically pawns. Of course the two of us shot of one liners and used our dry sense of humor to mock the debate. We were keeping track of flubs, for the two candidates but the game was eventaually tracked when Jessica got annoyed that Dan K was not mingling enough.
3. Bush, supporters. Very rarely do I actually surrond myself with Bush supporters(non-family members anway), most if not all my friends LOATH Bush. So, to meet people that hated Kerry and wanted to vote for Bush was a refreshing change. Nice to get a different angle on it. Some of them were young even! As far as I know they didnt want destroy the world, kill minorities, or suppress anyone's vote.
4. A group of a few, that didn't know what a Presidental debate actually was let alone that there was one that night. These people seemed utterly confused why we had an interest in going to the other room to watch any of it.
Of course it was party so we had to soicalize and stuff so I missed that start of it. I have to watch the middle portion.
I tell you one thing though when we went upstairs and people asked us how it was going it was fairly agreed that Bush had the upper hand fairly clearly. In fact I thought if Bush is just warming up he is going to mop the floor with him.
Then we return and it was like flipping back to a hockey...er um baseball game to find that the Phillies who were leading by 8 runs are in danger of losing the ball game.
I have no idea what happened half way through that changed the tides. I would declare it a draw at this point given how well Bush did at the start of the debate, but I have to go back to the tape and come back on here and write my final thoughts.
Where did everyone else watch the debates?
come back and check it out.
ps Lima Beanz I miss you

"Goodenow to Fans: YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS!
The candian press recently got NHLPA executive director Bob Goodenow and NHL commish Gary Bettman together and a fight didn't break out. Of course there won't be any pucks being dropped anytime soon either.
The people running were certaily harsher on Goodenow than Bettman.
Here are some of the highlights: (I put my thoughts in Italics)
``We've tried to find a common ground and tried to find a fair solution but the only response we've got from Gary Bettman and the owners so far is that it has to be a cap, it has to be a cap, and as long as that's the stance, unfortunately, this lockout is going to continue,'' said Goodenow.
HMMM...what about the NFL, they have a cap with tons more money coming in and they aren't starving on the streets.
Andrew Stelmack, in the studio audience, said he had no empathy for theplayers, who make $1.8 million US on average now and who would still get $1.3million US on average if the NHL had its way.``Hockey players are highly paid and they deserve to be highly paid,'' saidGoodenow. ``It is a marketplace and it has worked for many, many decades and webelieve that some type of marketplace going forward is the ultimate fair kind of system for fans, players and owners.
Um...the markeplace has worked terribly in the last few years. Over half a dozen teams have almost gone belly up in front of our eyes. Small market teams have had to give away star players for buckets of pucks.
Rob Van Wallegham, speaking from Calgary, said ``the union appears to beperpetuating the greed of the players.''
Goodenow didn't like that.
``The players are not greedy, not at all,'' he said. Some people might be jealous of their wealth, he suggested.``Sometimes people say, `I'm mad at the players,''' he said. `
`The reality is,what we're trying to do is to make sure the public knows: one, the players arelocked out; two, that they want to play; three, that their salaries have beenset by the owners, and salaries go up and down based on their performance.``
It's not the players triggering these problems. The problems are complex and dynamic. It's important for the public to understand . . . that the players are not asking for more. The players are asking for just a fair share and a marketplace system.''
Shouldn't the accept the good with the bad? They are sharing a shrinking market. There will be no market if players aren't back on the ice ASAP. Americans have short attention spans. I think more people are jealous of their talent then their wealth. We are mad at the players because many of them don't seem to give a damn about the game. Goodenow I guess forgets who pays their salary. How cocky of him to boil the anger down to simple jealousy. Clearly, his side doesn't give a damn about the fans or was in a coma during the baseball lockout which damaged the game for years.
Cut to a youngster in Ottawa saying he can't understand why players arecomplaining.``The players aren't complaining,'' said Goodenow. ``They want to play but they've been locked out.
Very cute there Bob-o. They like to call it a lockout so it looks like the players are sobbing shaking locks on the doors of the rinks. In reality when asked if they could just work under the previous agreement while they worked out their differences.
``What Gary Bettman and the owners have done is that they want a fight with the players and that's what a lockout is all about - to put pressure on the playersto succumb to a salary cap, which they've known all along is a type of systemthe players aren't at all interested in considering.''
Wait, hasn't he said several times they did everything they could to avoid a lockout? Well, they didn't even consider the main point of the agreement. They keep talking about the players deserve to get the money they want. Well, the owners deserve to make a profit. The owners own the league not the players. Players don't even have to live up to their salary, they get paid are bought our either way. Almost all their other demands the NHL was likely going to bow to. Less games..etc
Goodenow said "there is no correlation between ticket prices andplayers' salaries. Supply and demand determines ticket prices and not teampayrolls, he said".
Supply and Demand?!!?!? WOW. Is he that out of touch? The Flyers who have one of the biggest fanbases in the NHL had to beg people to fill the seats last season. The Stanley Cup Champs last year tried an all you can drink night (wisely it was nixed) to sell out seats during the Flyers/bolts Series last season. Who could he actually think that is true? So, many rinks were simply not selling out last season. WOW.
I can't imagine that all the NHL players buy into this mindset. PLease won't someone break the union line. PLease.

"Tucker to TERMINUS"
Well it's fairly clear that my friend and author of TERMINUS dislikes President Bush. So, I can only imagine that he is voting for John Kerry. In fact, most people that I bump into on the street seem to be ready to make Kerry our next president.
So, Drew has been kind enough to list everyday for the last several years of why Bush sucks, and why he is the worse president ever. Thats great that Drew dedicates lots and lots of time to spreading the word to give Dubbya the boot. Of course I am not nearly as liberal as Drew so I don't always agree with him.
however, looking all through TERMINUS I see a common theme among Kerry supporters. All reasons why we shouldn't vote for Bush, and little or no reasons why we should vote for Kerry. Now don't you think you should have a decent reason to vote for the man?
I am not trying to start a fight or anything here. It's just I would imagine that if Drew reads so much about such things that he should have a list of reasons why Kerry is going to be a good leader.
So, I am asking DREW to have a John Kerry Week on TERMINUS. Of course, the idea of asking someone else to have a theme for his blog for an entire week is sort of strange, but he seems to be bored over there. Sure, he will have plenty so say about the debate but since Drew blogs like twice a day I would like to think he could find time to tell our readers why we should vote for him.
So, Drew please let us know why John Kerry would make a good president. Honestly, when I ask most people when the vote for Kerry, they just start quoting Michael Moore, and the majority of them can't tell me one single thing they like about Kerry. No one can tell me what they like about his Senate record (that's a hard once since he never talks about it really) or why he would be a good leader and what he would actually do to make US, a better America.
So, Drew Why not make the Week of Oct 4th the week of John Kerry. I would love to see it. You clearly love the man. That will give you ample time to prepare your notes and iron out JOHN KERRY WEEK! If you choice to take me up on the offer.
I plan to cover the debates on here, but the write up on the first one might be a tad late. I have Dan K's wedding this weekend and actually have rehearsal when the debate is on..So I need to tape it and watch it later. I look forward to having people comment on the debates, and I will break down who I think won. I will also comment on who wore a cooler tie.
****note to readers anyone who uses this blog as their official source of election shouldn't vote**.

"IVAN Strikes Back!"
Hurricane Ivan is turning out to be a real pain in the ass. Not only did he (and his remains) claim the lives of almost 130 people (not all Americans) he also was the cause of major river flooding in North Jersey. He tore through the entire eastern sea board and left parts of where he first landed in shambles.
Now a large part of Ivan went back south and hit warm water again. He skippped over part of Florida again and is gaining strenght AGAIN. Of course he is in the gulf and won't get as much energy, but he is now a tropical depression again, and will likely be upgraded till a tropical storm when he hits land AGAIN.
How very strange.
Now New Jersey is usually more likely to get hit by a hurricane later in the season. We are in that part now, and although Jeanne isn't I direct threat it is likely to hit closer to use landfall wise the start of next week.

"NHL Dead; Now AHL has lost its head"
Okay, so there will not be any NHL hockey till at least January of 2005. I actually have pretty much come to the conclusion that if it doesn't return it never will. The two parties are that far apart.
Last spring the NHL had a third party give their opinion on the condition of the league that painted a bleak future, and revealed what horrible shape the league was in money wise. We already knew this with half a dozen teams almost going belly-up publicly. The players union's response to this was
"poppycock!" and "lies all lies!" However, they didn't really have any actual facts to back up why they think there shouldn't be a salary cap. Despite the decline in revenue they not only think there shouldn't be cap on teams they wanted to play less games. They wanted the season to be lowered from 84 games to around 75. So, they want unlimited earning potential and lessen the amount of games which would decrease revenue simply cause they didn't feel like playing that many games.
So here we are. The weather is changing and an I robbed of the sport that means the most to me. It has been very hard and kind of depressing for me. I thought perhaps (hard to do with lack of coverage) I would learn more about the players and teams in the AHL and follow the league happenings.
Well the AHL has gone and put many drastic rule changes into the game. So, bascially the verision of hockey that I know and love is dead. Here are the rule changes. Quite possibly the most drastic they ever did.
Permission of “tagging up” to negate off-side plays
Implementation of “no-touch” icing
Widening the blue lines and center red line to 24 inches and moving the goal line back to 11 feet from the end boards, adding space to the neutral zone
Employing a shootout to decide regular-season games which are tied after overtime.
Shootouts? Go lord..what is this a Playstation game? Why not just name Parris Hilton the commish and get it over with.

"The Big 400 Movie Game!"
According to the masterlist for my blog, it say this is my 400th blog! Of course some had to be reprinted all at once after the first TUCKER's WORLD died. So, its actually more then that.
Okay, in honor of the big 400, I am going to get a movie game started for the comments section. The rules are simple. I give clues for an actor...if people don't know just post no clue. If you have a guess post on there and I will say if you are right or wrong.
The first person that gets it right gets to write clues of their own and we all try and guess. The game ends when we generally all lose interest which with my blog should be in less then 24 hours.
OKay here we go:
I have worked with Oliver Stone 3 times
I have shared scenes with both Kevin Spacy, Marlon Brando and John Candy
Despite most people not knowing my name, I have been in big '90s films such as
Pulp Ficition, Field of Dreams and JFK.
Who am I ?
